    In this piece I wanted to portray the importance of queer friendshipsand having people who support you around you. Letting go of something traumatic in the past is not easy, but the hardest part is not looking back. The red door represents the scary past and the unpredictable future. You’re trying to figure out life when you have nothing negative ruling over you anymore. The change feels amazing, but those feelings might come back sometimes, and that’s when it’s important to have those people around you that remind you how far you’ve become and how much work you’ve done. This painting is for all the amazing, healthy, supportive friend groups who love each other. We’re a chosen family ❤️
